Stephen Candelmo is Synapsify’s Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. Mr. Candelmo is the former original co-founder of Fedbid, Inc., the leading reverse auction exchange for federal procurement where he was responsible for all strategic development and partnerships for the company. Stephen possesses over 14 years of experience and expertise in corporate and technology matters as a corporate attorney where he was involved in more than $2.5 billion worth of transactions for several nationally known law firms representing both Fortune 100 and venture backed companies. Mr. Candelmo has been a featured speaker and writer for several conferences and publications regarding start-up legal and technology issues and growth strategies. Stephen is a proud alumni of Mindshare and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, University of Akron School of Law, and Georgetown University School of Law. Stephen and his wife and two children live in Bethesda, MD.
Lawrence Au is Synapsify’s Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder. Mr. Au is the former start-up founder of Q-Phrase, Lumifi and Sauriel, LLC. Lawrence possesses over 30 years of experience and expertise in large scale systems and databases, text analytics and search, cognitive analysis, and artificial intelligence algorithms involving linguistics. He is the inventor of U.S. text analytics and search patents 7,711,672; 7,536,374; 7,526,466; 6,778,970; 5,937,400; 5,829,004, 5,355,473 and inventor of U.S. sentiment search engine patent applications 13167640 and 61529377. Mr. Au is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received a B.A. in Operations Research. Lawrence and his wife and son live in Vienna, VA.
Eric Forst is Synapsify’s Chief Marketing Officer. Since 2007, Mr. Forst has worked on social media campaigns for many Fortune 500 companies in automotive, CPG, pharmaceutical, entertainment and technology. Previously, he was VP business development for Banyan Branch, a social media agency, and headed agency partnerships for Visible Technologies, a social media analytics platform. He has also headed corporate marketing for Traffic Marketplace, one of the Internet’s largest display advertising networks, and for Agile-1, a hosted software solution for the staffing industry. Eric received his MFA in English/Creative Writing from UMASS, Amherst and his BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. Eric is a frequent speaker on social media and marketing and has presented at venues including MediaPosts’ OMMA conferences, Gravity Summit and Digital Hollywood.
